🌸 Spring (March – May) β€” The Best Overall Season

Spring is the best time to visit Morocco. Temperatures are perfect at 20-25Β°C, landscapes are green, and the famous rose harvest happens in May. Ideal for both city tours and Sahara desert trips.

β˜€οΈ Summer (June – August) β€” Hot But Possible

Very hot inland (38-42Β°C in Marrakech). Best for coastal cities like Essaouira. Not recommended for Sahara tours due to extreme heat.

πŸ‚ Autumn (September – November) β€” Our Second Favourite

Excellent temperatures (25-30Β°C), fewer tourists, and perfect Sahara conditions. Great photography light and date harvest season in October.

❄️ Winter (December – February) β€” Hidden Gem Season

Lowest prices, no crowds, magical Sahara stargazing. Daytime in Marrakech is pleasant at 18-22Β°C. Snow on Atlas Mountains creates stunning scenery.

πŸ’‘ Beldia Tours Tip

December and January are magical for Sahara tours β€” cold nights mean incredible stars and you have the dunes almost to yourself at sunrise!

Our senior guide Aziz shares everything you need to know before your Sahara adventure β€” from what to pack to the best camps.

πŸ—ΊοΈ How to Get to the Sahara from Marrakech

Merzouga is about 560km from Marrakech β€” a 9-10 hour drive. The journey passes through the Atlas Mountains, AΓ―t Ben Haddou, Draa Valley, and Todra Gorge. We recommend minimum 3 days from Marrakech.

πŸͺ The Camel Trek Experience

A 45-60 minute camel ride to your desert camp as the sun sets. Camels are gentle and well-trained. Bring a headscarf for protection from sand and sun. The return ride at sunrise is equally magical.

πŸŽ’ What to Pack for the Sahara

Headscarf, sunscreen SPF50+, sunglasses, closed shoes, warm layers (desert nights are cold), camera, and cash for tips. Most importantly β€” bring your sense of wonder!

πŸ’‘ Beldia Tours Tip

The best photos happen at golden hour β€” 30 minutes before sunset. Position yourself at the top of a dune facing away from the sun for dramatic shots!
